Grants of up to £2,275 Available
From April 2012 there will be two types of grants available to employers taking on apprentices, subject to eligibility:
The first incentive is for employers with up to 50 employees where a payment of £1,500 will be paid in two stages.
The second is a payment of £2,275, again for small employers, to employ a jobless young person aged between 18 to 24*, where candidates must be claiming Job Seekers Allowance, and where employers have either not previously engaged in apprenticeships, or there has been a period of 12 months since the last apprenticeship ended.
(*As we do not receive full funding for 19+ apprencices, there would be an additional monthly charge to the employer)
