Design, Erection & Verification of Electrical Installations
Formerly known as the City & Guilds 2400, the design, erection and verification course follows on from the 2391-10 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations qualification
This theory-based course is intended for those who will be designing electrical installations. It will provide delegates with the necessary information and knowledge to design and erect an electrical installation, with the emphasis being on cable sizing, management and routing taking into account environmental influences and suitability for purpose.
Who is this course aimed at?
Delegates should have a good working knowledge of the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and of inspection and testing. We recommend that they have achieved the City & Guilds 2382 and 2391-10 prior to taking this course.
How long will the course take?
Ten evenings or four days (excluding the examination).
What topics will it cover?
Design of electrical installations, selection of equipment, inspection and testing and the use of electronic design software.
What books will I need?
You will need the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) £75.00 and the Guidance Note 3 £25.00.
Is there an exam?
Yes. There is a three hour open book exam, plus a design project. Delegates who have not previously gained the 2391-10 qualification will also have to complete the three hour 2391-10 practical assessment for which an additional charge will be made.
When will I know if I've passed?
Completed papers are sent to the City & Guilds to be marked. As soon as they inform us of the results we will notify you.
