FPA Fundamentals of Emergency Lighting (BTEC Level 2)

About this course
This theory course has been designed to provide an underpinning knowledge of design, installation and maintenance of Emergency Lighting and has been developed by the Fire Protection Association in association with the Fire and Security Association, a specialist division of the Electrical Contractors Association, and fully meets the requirements of the BAFE SP203 Scheme.

Who is this course aimed at?
Those who design, install and maintain emergency lighting systems including Electrical Contractors, Building Services Engineers, Specifiers, Consulting Engineers and Architects.

How long will the course take?
One day, typcially 9am to 4pm.

What topics will it cover?
Theory elements of:
Statutory Regulations
  Fire Safety Order
  Approved Document B
• Types of equipment, luminaire types and system types.
• British and European Standards including locations of equipment and light levels.
Servicing and testing.

What books will I need?
None - all training materials wiil be available during the course.

Is there an exam?
Yes, there are two assessments - a short multiple choice paper and a written question paper, both assessments are open-book.

When will I know if i've passed?
Provisionally on the day.

How much will it cost?
One day course - £245+VAT to include buffet lunch, assessments and certification.
BTEC accreditation is available (via an additional test) at an additional cost of £96+VAT.
