Who is this course aimed at?
Suitably qualified engineers who carry out initial and periodic inspection and testing of highway electrical installations including traffic controls.

Course Content
This course is designed to enable suitably qualified engineers to carry out initial and periodic inspection and testing of highway lighting equipment. It is designed to satisfy the requirements of National Highways Sector Scheme 8 and the Highway Electrical Registration Scheme (HERS) and is approved by the HESA (Highway Electrical Sector Academy). The course comprises both theoretical and practical elements.

· Electrical Theory
· Health & Safety including:
- Safe use of equipment
- Safe isolation procedures
· Inspection & Testing - Theory & Practical
· Verification, Certification & further actions

How long will the course take?
Three days of classroom based theory and practical sessions to include the final assessments.

What books will I need?
Candidates will be provided with relevant materials on loan during the course, but we recommend learners posess a copy of the IEE On Site Guide.

Is there an exam?
Yes. There is a short multiple choice question paper and an observed assessment of a full inspection and test.

When will I know if I've passed?
The results are reviewed by the HESA who will, upon successful completion, issue the relevant certification.

Course Cost
£395 + VAT to include refreshments and buffet lunch. Course numbers are limited to a maximum of 8 candidates.
