This package has been developed for practicing electricians who wish to carry out Initial Verification and/or Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations and has been designed to offer a cost-effective and efficient method of achieving the 2394 in isolation or both the 2394 and 2395 in one convenient package.
Who is this course aimed at?
Practicing electricians who are working to the current (2011) wiring regulations and have preferably gained the City & Guilds 2382 qualification.
How long will the course take?
For the 2394 and 2395 package: four days training including practical instruction and on-line exam.
Plus two evening exams.
Plus two half day practical assessments.
For those taking the 2394 only or the 2395 only: three days training including practical instruction and on-line exam.
Plus one evening exam.
Plus one half day practical assessment.
What topics will it cover?
For the 2394 only
• Applicable statutory and non-statutory documents
• Safe systems of working
• Initial Verification including Inspection, Testing and Certification
For the 2394 & 2395 Package
As above, plus:
• Purpose and frequency of Periodic Inspection
• Periodic Inspection criteria
• Completion of Electrical Installation Condition Report including Defect Codes
What books will I need?
You will need the IEE 17th Edition Wiring Regulations 2008 Amendment 1 (2011) 'Green' book £80.00, Guidance Notes 3 (incorporating Amendment 1) £27.00 and On-Site Guide (incorporating Amendment 1) £24.00.
Is there an exam?
For the 2394 only & 2395 only
One on-line exam (1 hour 20 minutes)
One written exam (1 hour 30 minutes)
One practical assessment (3 hours)
For the 2394 & 2395 Package
As above, plus an additional written exam and practical assessment.
Delegates must be registered for the written examination by the 1st day of the month prior to the exam date. If booking after this date a late entry fee will apply.
When will I know if I've passed?
For the on-line exam and practical assessments, provisionally on the day. For the written exams, the papers are externally marked.
How much will it cost?
For the 2394 only or 2395 only: £562+VAT, including buffet lunch, registration, exams and assessments.
For the 2394 and 2395 package: £746+VAT, including buffet lunch, registration, exams and assessments.
