First Aid

This course will enable candidates to be trained up to the level of an Appointed Person to be able to take responsibility for the First Aid in an emergency at work, and to maintain the First Aid Kit and record books in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines. It can be tailored to meet the most likely First Aid requirements of individual workplaces, but will cover certain key areas.

Who is this course aimed at?
This is a one day HSE approved training course designed for any staff wishing to be able to recognise potential emergency situations and know how to deal with them.

How long will the course take?
One day.

What topics will it cover?
Assessment & prioritisation of the scene/patient, CPR, recovery position, care of the unconscious patient, choking, head injuries, bleeding, fractures, burns, shock, moving casualties and First Aid Kit essentials.

What books will I need?
No books are needed.

Is there an exam?
There is no formal assessment.

When will I know if I've passed?
All candidates will receive an Emergency First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years, at the end of the training day.
