    Qualification Overview
    The Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment has been developed for delivery in a training environment and has been designed to: - develop learners skills and knowledge at this level. - prepare learners to take further qualifications to develop their skills, knowledge and understanding within their chosen craft. - fulfill CSCS training requirements for the new (2014) Labourer's card.

    There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification.

    Qualification Details
    Principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work.
    Importance of safe manual handling in the workplace.
    Importance of working safely at height in the workplace.
    Risks to health within a construction environment.
    Importance of working around plant and equipment safely.

    Assessment for the qualification
    The assessment for this qualification will be by the centre demonstrating how each learning outcome and assessment criteria has been met (formative assessment) and the completion of CITB Health, Safety and Environment Labourer Test.
    This test combines both the qualification and the CITB Health, Safety and Environment Labourer Test, meaning learners won’t have to do an end qualification test and the HS&E test separately, as this is combined. There will be two results, one for the qualification and one for the HS&E operatives test (both have to be passed for the card to be issued.)
