About this course?
The ILM Level 2 Award in Team Leading is designed to give practicing or aspiring Team Leaders a solid foundation in their formal development as a leader.
Who is this course aimed at?
This course is ideal for those who have or will take the initial step into first-line management and wish to gain a solid understanding of the principles and practicalities of team leading, including supervisors, chargehands within Construction including, Electrical, Plumbing and Building.
How long will the course take?
Three days - 9.00am to 5.00pm, with some home study.
What topics will it cover?
•· The various roles within a team.
•· The functions of a team leader.
•· The responsibilities of a team leader.
•· The limits of authority and accountability.
•· The course includes one mandatory unit, Developing Yourself as a Team Leader, and two pre-selected units, Motivating the Work Team to Perform, and Planning and Monitoring Work.
What books will I need?
All learners will gain free studying membership of ILM for one year. Designed to help learners get the most from this course and to advance their management career, studying membership gives access to a wide range of specialist support and development materials and services. A list of optional reading materials will be provided during induction.
Is there an exam?
No. Assessment of the mandatory unit is by reflective review (assignment), and the optional units are assessed by either reflective review, oral briefings, case studies, work based assignments or short answer questions as appropriate.
When will I know if I've passed?
Upon successful completion of all assessments your portfolio will be internally assessed and a provisional result given subject to internal and external verification.
How much will it cost?
This qualification can, subject to eligibility, be partly funded by Train to Gain. Cost with Train to Gain funding £150 + VAT to include registration and buffet lunch. Please contact us to check your eligibility.
