Bristol Goes From Strength to Strength

Huge Success
We are delighted to report that our first Traineeship group at Bristol is the most successful to date. We have a 100% success rate with eleven Trainees being taken on by an Employer to start their Electrical Apprenticeship, and one learner going on to a full time college programme. Our Bristol Centre is now in full swing with two cohorts of first year Apprentices, half of which completed the Traineeship with ourselves, BTT and Jeff Way Electrical. As demand has exceeded our expectation we are currently in the process of recruiting more staff.

Still Time!
There is still just about enough time to take on an Electrical Apprentice for our September intake at all DCET Centres - Exeter, Bristol, Plymouth and Redruth. Whether you already have someone in mind or would like the opportunity to take on one of our carefully selected high calibre candidates, call Lyn now on 01392 829100. We are one of the first training providers in the country to run the new Trailblazer scheme which offers many rewards to the Employer, including up to £10,800 incentives (subject to eligiblity). Ruby's Blog
Ruby PicWe are proud to share Ruby's Blog with you. Ruby Mitchell is now one of our first year Bristol Apprentices, having completed the Traineeship programme through the summer, and she has started blogging about what life is like as a young 21 year old female learning a trade in the traditionally male dominated world of electricians. As Ruby previously completed her Level 2 and 3 training at college, she wasn't eligible for funding for the Traineeship so we were delighted to fund her through the programme, including providing her PPE. Ruby is now being supported by the NICEIC through the Jobs for the Girls Campaign while she completes her Apprenticeship training with DCET. Ruby is an inspiration to other women who may be considering a career as an electrician. You can keep up to date with her progress at her blogspot here.
