FPA Fundamentals of Fire Detection & Alarm Systems (BTEC Level 2)
About this course
This theory course is the starting point for the accredited fire alarm training pathway and has been developed by the Fire Protection Association in association with the Fire and Security Association, a specialist division of the Electrical Contractors Association and fully meets the requirements of the BAFE SP203 Scheme.
Who is this course aimed at?
Those who design, install and maintain fire alarm systems including Electrical Contractors, Building Services Engineers, Specifiers, Consulting Engineers and Architects.
How long will the course take?
Two days, typically 9am to 4pm.
What topics will it cover?
Theory elements of:
• Statutory Regulations
Fire Safety Order 2005
• Disability Discrimination Act etc.
• Types of system and principles of operation.
• Layout of components.
• Testing and Certification.
• Types of premises.
What books will I need?
None - all training materials will be available during the course.
Is there an exam?
Yes, there are two assessments - a short multiple choice paper and a written question paper, both assessments are open-book.
When will I know if i've passed?
Provisionally on the day.
How much will it cost?
Two day course - £395+VAT to include buffet lunch, assessments and certification.
BTEC accreditation is available (via an additional test) at an additional cost of £96+VAT.
