First Aid at Work

This is an in-depth course, aimed at providing employees with the skills, knowledge and confidence to deal effectively with a wide range of possible First Aid / emergency situations at work.The course can be modified to meet particular needs within specific working environments, but will cover a range of subjects.

Who is this course aimed at?
This is a three day HSE approved training course designed for any staff wishing to be able to recognise potential First Aid / emergency situations and know how to deal with them effectively.

How long will the course take?
Three days.

What topics will it cover?
Initial assessment, care of the unconscious patient, spinal trauma, breathing disorders, CPR, choking, circulatory system/cardiac problems, wounds & bleeding, shock, fits, fractures, head injuries, burns & scalds, poisons, eye injuries, maintaining records, maintaining & stocking First Aid kits.

What books will I need?
No books are needed.

Is there an exam?
At the end of the course there will be a formal assessment by external HSE approved assessors.

When will I know if I've passed?
Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, each candidate will be awarded a First Aid at Work certificate, and will be qualified to the level of First Aider at Work, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety First Aid regulations. This certificate is valid for three years.
